The String Project's goal is to provide low-cost, high-quality instruction. Our tuition rates are kept as low as possible: $5.00 per class and $10.00 per lesson. If you are eligible for free or reduced lunch or have other serious financial needs, you may apply for a scholarship.

Scholarship applications MUST be submitted no later than the information meeting on Monday, February 10, 2020.

To apply for a scholarship:

  1. DO NOT register online for a class or lessons until your scholarship form has been processed at the information meeting on February 10.
  2. Complete a Scholarship Application (English + Spanish).
  3. Ask your school orchestra teacher or another music teacher to sign the form.
  4. Attach proof of eligibility for free/reduced lunch OR the first page of your family’s 2018 U.S. tax form.
  5. If you are requesting a scholarship for private lessons, please download and complete the Lesson Schedule Form (English + Spanish), and bring it with you to the information meeting on February 10.
  6. Bring all the forms to the information meeting on Monday, Februry 10, 2020 at 7 p.m. If you cannot attend the meeting, you MUST contact Dr. Schmidt, the String Project Director, no later than Monday, February 10, 2020 to be considered for a scholarship. Scholarship applications and lesson schedules must be turned in at the information meeting on February 10. If you submit your application and lesson schedule after February 10, we cannot guarantee that you will be accepted for private lessons.
