About The voice program in the School of Music in the Herberger College of the Arts at Arizona State University provides a personal setting within a large university atmosphere. As a voice student at ASU the demands are high – performances, research, class work, practice, lesson preparation, studio presentation and ensemble participation – but the results are worth it. Being accepted to the School of Music in voice is only the first step in a long journey that prepares you for a professional career. All of the members of the voice faculty are committed to producing outstanding singers and training capable voice teachers. The members of the faculty, some of whom enjoy prestigious solo careers, provide outstanding musical and vocal coaching, technical training, application of languages and diction and special insights into the interpretation of vocal music of all periods from early music to modern repertoire. Tomorrow’s singers must be more than capable and competitive in their chosen field. They must be able to think creatively and adapt more readily to the rapid changes in the arts and in the market place.
