Percussion
The ASU Percussion is part of the ASU Sun Devil Marching Band and offers a unique opportunity for percussionists to enjoy a corps-style percussion experience. The ASU Percussion is one of the few in the Pacific-10 Conference to offer positions both in front ensemble and battery performance. To be a part of either percussion sections, you must complete the ASU Sun Devil Marching Band Application. Pre-audition clinics for the ASU Percussion are held in mid-May, and auditions are held during the first several days of band camp in August.
Pre-Audition Clinics
April 27, 2012 — Registration 5:30 p.m., Auditions 6–9 p.m.
April 28, 2012 — 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Pre-audition clinics provide an opportunity for new and returning members to display their skill to our percussion staff prior to the formal auditions during band camp. Veterans of the Sun Devil Marching Band Percussions Section who will be continuing in the fall semester are expected to attend pre-audition clinics, regardless of standing. Any conflicts with the pre-audition clinic dates should be sent immediately via email to Roberto Paz at rvpaz@asu.edu
There will be a $10 audition fee, only checks will be accepted and need to be payable to “Sun Angel Foundation.”
Note: Out-of-state students are not required to attend the Pre-Audition clinics, but it is highly encouraged should they have the opportunity to participate.

*Directions to Percussion Blockhouse: From the University Drive and Rural Road intersection, travel north on Rural Road. Take a right, going east, on E 6th Street toward the Verde Dickey Dome. Take an immediate left, going north again, once in the 59E parking lot. Follow the road as it travels north and then east again, soon opening up with a larger parking area on your right hand side. The Percussion Blockhouse will be on the south side of the parking lot.
