Band Day
We are pleased to announce that the 63rd Annual ASU Band Day will be held on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011.
Looking to the future of marching activity in the state of Arizona and the direction that we would like to take the level of competition at the Arizona State University Band Day event, in 2011 we will be hosting a two-part competition. Arizona bands who need to qualify for state marching festival can compete in the ABODA sanctioned portion and those looking to compete against bands from out of state and utilize the WBA judging system can compete in the WBA portion of Band Day. Those bands who want to compete in both sessions can register at both website and will receive a discount on the ABODA registration.
The morning/afternoon session will be hosted by ABODA (Arizona Band and Orchestra Directors Association) and will include the first 25 bands that enter, which will be a qualifier the Arizona state marching festival.
The first 25 bands to enter and complete their application and payment will be accepted into the show. Performance time will be determined by the postmarked date of the payment check. Registration has begun and can be found at the following link. www.regonline.com/bandday2011
The evening Session will be hosted by WBA (Western Bands Association) will include 20 bands utilizing caption judging and placements. The first 20 bands to enter and complete their application and payment will be accepted into the show. Performance time will be determined by the postmarked date of the payment check. The ASU Sun Devil Marching Band will perform prior to the announcement of the award ceremonies for both sessions of the event.
*Please be aware that due to non-ABODA sheets, the WBA (Western Bands Association) section of the contest will not be a qualifying event for state marching festival.
