Alumni of the Sun Devil Marching Band

The Sun Devil Marching Band is a program of great tradition, and with that tradition comes countless alumni who have been a part of the band's major milestones throughout the years. Individuals who have participated in the Sun Devil Marching Band can lay claim to experiences such as marching in the Rose Bowl parade, attending countless bowl games, performing at the Super Bowl, and receiving the Sudler Trophy.

Among other things, alumni of the Sun Devil Marching Band can be recognized for their pride and their dedication. In addition to supporting the football team, the band entertains the home crowd by performing 4 to 5 different shows every season. This translates to nearly 100 shows performed over the span of 20 years, and the participation of up to 400 band members each year. As a result, alumni of the Pride of the Southwest are credited with the ability to learn quickly and work hard, and are known to epitomize what Sun Devil Pride truly means.

ALUMNI AND HOMECOMING:

The Sun Devil Marching Band Alumni play a unique and memorable role in the Homecoming festivities at ASU. The Alumni Band is a conglomeration of past band members from all generations, ranging from recent graduates to members of classes from 50 years ago. Regardless of age, these alumni join together to create a fun and entertaining band that performs the pregame show prior to kickoff of the Homecoming game. The Alumni Band then sits in the stands together playing the fight song and stand tunes from years past. The Alumni Band is a wonderful way for alumni of the Sun Devil Marching Band to reconnect and remember what it feels like to stand under those stadium lights once again.
