Undergraduate Audition Materials and Requirements: Brass Instruments

Admission into performance (MUP 127) requires more advanced development of embouchure, articulation, range, tone and flexibility than is required for music education, theory, therapy, jazz performance and Bachelor of Arts (MUP 111) programs. While orchestral excerpts are not required, performance of several standard excerpts as a part of your audition is welcomed.

The entrance audition must display a level of development that allows you to start with the listed repertoire or comparable literature. Live and taped auditions are accepted; however, a live audition is required to be considered for scholarships. A slightly longer program of music is suggested for taped auditions.
