4 Steps to Applying:
- Apply to ASU
- Apply to School of Music
- Audition
- Financial Aid & Scholarships
Step 1: Apply to ASU
As an undergraduate applicant, you must apply to BOTH Arizona State University and the Herberger Institute School of Music.
The first step in the application process is to apply to ASU. You may apply to ASU in one of two ways: online or by mail. You are urged to complete this process as soon as possible the year before your proposed entrance. Early application is strongly advised because of enrollment limitations and financial aid deadlines.
You will be asked to indicate your intended major. Because entrance into the School of Music is selective, you also will be asked to indicate your second choice major. If you pass your audition, the School of Music will change your major to music. In the event that you are admitted to ASU, but not selected for the School of Music, you will be placed in the second major choice you selected at the time of application.
Please visit the ASU undergraduate admissions Web site for more information on the application procedure and application forms.
NOTE: Although you may receive an acceptance letter from ASU upon submitting your ASU application, this does NOT mean that you have been accepted into the School of Music
