Lyric Opera Theatre (Voice)

MM Audition Materials and Requirements: Music Theatre Performance
You must submit a resumé reflecting both training and performance experience.

Opera

• Three memorized pieces are required: one in French, one in German and one in Italian. At least one must be an aria, and at least one must not be an aria.
• Provide musical scores or readable copies of your audition pieces for the pianist. Prepare six typed copies of your three (3) song texts (in the original languages – not translations or musical scores), for the audition panel. You will be graded on your diction.

Broadway Musicals

• Be prepared to sing an art song or aria in a foreign language and a musical theatre piece, either ballad or upbeat, from a legitimate musical theatre production (no standards or pop repertoire, please).
• Also prepare a one- to two-minute monolog from a musical or play.
• You will not be asked to dance at this audition. Provide musical scores or readable copies for the pianist.
