Community The ASU Herberger Institute School of Music Organ program enjoys excellent relations with the surrounding community. Organ students work in local churches and synagogues, and they have given performances at Trinity Cathedral (Schantz organ), University Lutheran Church (Brombaugh), St. Barnabas on the Desert Episcopal Church (Casavant) and Pinnacle Presbyterian Church (Richards-Fowkes). The Valley of the Sun is one of the fastest growing urban areas in the U.S., and a number of impressive new organs are being planned for installation in the near future, including a Glatter-Goetz/Rosales organ at Central Methodist Church in downtown Phoenix. Kimberly Marshall and the organ studio provide demonstrations of the Fritts organ for many community groups including school children, seniors and Sneaker Tours, which introduce local residents to the university’s resources. Dr. Marshall has also presented programs for Saluting Women in the Arts, the Association of Women Philanthropists and the President’s Community Enrichment Program. In any given year, an estimated 1,500 people attend educational events in the Organ Hall.
