Faculty Feats are a great resource for everyone to quickly discover what is happening with individual Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts faculty members.

Kimberly Marshall, Director, Goldman Professor of Organ, Music

2008-03-30
Kimberly Marshall is director of the School of Music and Goldman professor of organ. In 2002 she organized the first ever international conference on the organ in recorded sound. The proceedings, which she edited, will be published in Aug. 2008, and include two CD recordings of excerpts from historical organ recordings.

In addition, she had an article published recently in a Festschrift for the organ historian Peter Williams that explored the development of the keyboard in the late medieval period.

Her Going for Baroque concert held March 9, was attending by a record-breaking crowd in the School of Music’s Organ Hall. She believes that it was of such interest because she utilized both the Traeri baroque organ and the baroque-inspired Fritts organ in a varied program featuring different genres of baroque music.
