Richard Mook, senior lecturer of music history, has conducted fieldwork interviews with hip hop performers from the Phoenix area.  Excerpts from these interviews have been integrated into a new, online class on the history of hip hop, giving these local artists a voice in the academic conversation on hip hop at ASU.  Dr. Mook also is writing an article based on these interviews, which will explore the importance of race and immigration in Phoenix hip hop.
