Welcome to the music therapy program in the ASU Herberger Institute School of Music. As a music therapy student, you may have the opportunity to study your major instrument with an internationally recognized performance faculty.
Opportunities abound. You can participate in performance groups including orchestra, bands and choirs, further develop your clinical skills with nationally recognized facilities including Barrow Neurological Center, The Mohammed Ali Parkinson’s Center, Hospice of the Valley and the Southwest Autism Research and Resource Center, and study musical improvisation, songwriting, world music and popular music styles.
Because ASU is located in a large metropolitan area, there are a variety of options while completing the required six-month internship. ASU students are eligible and encouraged to apply to the many National Roster Internships available through the AMTA.
