Musicology
Welcome to the musicology division of the ASU Herberger Institute School of Music.
We offer a broad range of courses leading to the BA and MA degrees in musicology and ethnomusicology. The faculty comprises leading scholars in a broad range of areas including American music, musical cultures of the American Southwest, Music in Popular Cultures and Western European art music. On our faculty are Richard Haefer, Theodore Solis, Mark Sunkett, Robert Oldani, Kay Norton, Sabine Feisst , Catherine Saucier, Richard Mook and Karen Bryan.
The division also provides a variety of performance experiences through ethnomusicology ensembles, including African Drumming, Mariachi, Latin Marimba, and Indonesian Gamelan groups. We invite you to explore these opportunities.
