Music Education in the ASU Herberger Institute School of Music builds bridges between the school and community. Initiatives such as the ASU String Project make a lasting impact on the community.

String Project

The ASU String Project, under the direction of Dr. Margaret Schmidt, offers a unique opportunity for Valley children grades 4-12. Undergraduate string music education majors in the ASU Herberger Institute School of Music teach group classes and private lessons. The award-winning project promotes string playing and provides hands-on teaching experience for future string teachers.
