At this historic 20th anniversary of the eleventh Feminist Theory Music conference (FTM 11), we celebrate past and current contributions of women to music and seek to advance the philosophical, theoretical and practical basis of feminist theory in music.
Featuring keynote addresses by Julia Koza, Susan McClary, Judith Tick, and Deborah Vargas we welcome lecture recitals, performances and proposals of scholarly papers on such themes as pioneers, women exploring interdisciplinary and digital arts, eco-musics, music education as well as music and healing. Proposals on any other topic relating to all categories of music and gender also are accepted.
Please submit a 300-word abstract, the presentation’s title, and a short bio for papers, panels of 3 or 4 papers, or other presentations to ftm11asu@gmail.com by Jan. 3, 2010, or simply join us for scholarly inquiry and musical events.
