Chronicles Alumni Joe Burgstaller (1993 BM) joined the prestigious ensemble, Canadian Brass, in Summer 2001. He is a former student of David Hickman. Joel de la Houssaye (1997 BMT) presented with Barbara Crowe at the American Music Therapy Association conference on "Group Percussion Experiences as an Intervention for Gang Involvement: Music Therapy in Schools." Percussionist Michael Kenyon (year BM, year MM) has been named Executive Director of the Percussive Arts Society, effective August 1, 2001. Prior to the appointment, Kenyon was Executive Director of the New Mexico Jazz Workshop. Eun Mi Kwak (1998 BMT) has established a private music therapy clinic in Seoul, South Korea. She presented at the 2001 American Music Therapy Association conference on "Rhythmic Auditory Stimulation (RAS) Gail Training for Improving Velocity and Gait Symmetry." Tracy Leonard-Warner (1994 BMT) is the current president of the Western Region of American Music Therapy Association. Congratulations to James O'Halloran (2000 Instrumental Music Education) whose comments were featured in an article for the August issue of B&O: Band and Orchestra Product News. The school at which O'Halloran teaches, Barry Goldwater High School in Phoenix, received $30,000 worth of prizes for its music program due to the winning of an easy writing contest on "How Music Education has Enriched My Life" by one of the students. Kathleen Walsh (1996 BMT) is the current president of the Arizona Music Therapy Association. David Jenkins (2001 MM) is teaching saxophone at the University of Massachusetts during Spring 2002.
