Bio: Lisa Ehlers is the Director of the Class Piano Program in the School of Music. She received her Bachelor of Science in Zoology, a Master of Science in Botany with a specialty in plant chemistry, and a Master of Music in piano performance from ASU, studying with Artist/Teacher Dr. Baruch Meir. Her former piano teachers include Eugene Pridonoff and Rayna Barroll Aschaffenburg. Lisa developed and taught an integrated arts curriculum in the public school system, specializing in integrating the sciences and the arts. As an advocate of the arts, she worked for the Town of Gilbert coordinating the Millennium Quilt project and other arts programs. Ms. Ehlers is the Program Coordinator for the Adamant Music School in Vermont, a summer program of intensive piano studies and performances. For many years she has been the accompanist and orchestra director for various music productions around the Valley. In addition to the mainstream repertoire, Ms. Ehlers often includes contemporary works in her recitals and has performed across the United States and the Philippines. She teaches class piano, group pedagogy methods and keyboard harmony at ASU.
