Overview

The ASU Herberger College School of Music successfully launched their visiting quartet residency program with the St. Lawrence String Quartet, Visiting Quartet in Resident. This group of distinguished artists visited the ASU campus three times during the 2005-2006 season. Each visit brought a new theme -Haydn, Mozart and Shostakovich - and included performances, open rehearsals, lecture/demonstrations and master classes. "It was amazing to open student's eyes and ears to this experience," Geoff Nuttall, violinist for the St. Lawrence String Quartet, said. "A lot of them didn't realize musicians like Haydn were so great until they worked with their music on an intimate level. It was all around an amazing experience for us."

Visits
October 10-11, 2005 Haydn
January 24-26, 2006 Mozart
