St. Lawrence String Quartet

Location: Katzin Concert Hall
Description: The world-renowned St. Lawrence String Quartet, serving as Visiting Quartet in Residence during 2005-2006, will present a concert including Haydn's "Joke" quartet, R. Murray Schaefer's quartet No. 3, and Beethoven's quartet Op. 131. The Haydn presentation is part of a larger educational project with ASU students.

St. Lawrence String Quartet
Date and Time: January 26, 7:30 p.m.
Location: Katzin Concert Hall
Description: The world-renowned St. Lawrence String Quartet, serving as Visiting Quartet in Residence during 2005-2006, joins ASU faculty violist Nancy Buck in an all Mozart program. This concert is part of a larger celebration at ASU of the composer's life, in honor of the 250th anniversary of his birth. The program includes two string quartets and a viola quintet.

St. Lawrence String Quartet
Date and Time: March 2, 7:30 p.m.
Location: Katzin Concert Hall
Description: The world-renowned St. Lawrence String Quartet, serving as Visiting Quartet in Residence during 2005-2006, will present an all Shostakovich concert featuring three of his string quartets. This is the final theme for the quartet's residency, and their exciting work with our ASU students. They will have taken our students on a journey from Haydn to Shostakovich, meanwhile, educating and entertaining us all through these pillars of the quartet literature.

St. Lawrence String Quartet Composer's Concert (world premieres)
Date and Time: March 3, 4:45 p.m.
Location: Katzin Concert Hall
Description: As part of the St. Lawrence String Quartet's visiting residency at ASU, our composition students have written new works for string quartets. These new compositions will be premiered at this concert, performed by the St. Lawrence String Quartet and our ASU String Students.

ASU String Students Perform Shostakovich String Quartets
Date and Time: March 7, 5 p.m.
Location: Recital Hall
Description: ASU String Students will perform 8 of Shostakovich's String Quartets. This concert is the culmination of our students' work with the St. Lawrence String Quartet, and the final concert this year for the Visiting Quartet Residency
