Symphonic Chorale

Gregory Gentry, conductor

This large mixed ensemble in the ASU Herberger College School of Music includes highly select undergraduate and graduate students who perform a diverse range of accompanied and a cappellaliterature. Consisting of highly motivated music majors and experienced singers from around the university, this acclaimed choir presents two major concerts per semester.

All members are chosen on the basis of an audition. Repertoire consists of music from each of the major style periods. Each year, the Symphonic Chorale joins with other ASU choirs and the Symphony Orchestra to present a major work. Recent performances have included Orff’s Carmina Burana, Mahler’s Symphony No. 2 and Prokofiev’s Alexander Nevsky.

Rehearsals: Tuesday and Thursday, 12:55-2:25 p.m.; Friday, 12:55-1:45 p.m.
MUP 353 (undergraduates); MUP 553 (graduates)
