Choral Union

Laura Inman, conductor

Founded in the 1950s, the Arizona State University Choral Union is devoted to singing the masterworks for large mixed chorus and orchestra. Members are auditioned volunteer singers from the ASU community, including students, faculty, staff and residents of the Phoenix metropolitan area. Many of the members are professionally trained and most have had extensive choral experience. Weekly rehearsals take place from August through April.

The Choral Union sings several times each season with the ASU Symphony Orchestra. On occasion, this ensemble performs with the Phoenix Symphony, and has had performance tours in Mexico, England, Australia and Italy. Recent performances include Walton’s Belshazzar’s Feast, Lauridsen’s Lux Aeterna, Mendelssohn’s Elijah, Bloch’s Sacred Service, Verdi’s Requiem, Mahler’s Symphony No. 2 and Prokofiev’s Alexander Nevsky.
