Ensembles

The ASU Choirs in the Herberger College School of Music promote members' growth as creative, dynamic musicians through polished performances of outstanding repertory in a positive, professional atmosphere. The ensembles provide you with outstanding opportunities to apply your knowledge of voice, music history and music theory to create a compelling musical experience for the listener and performer.

The range of ensembles offers you, the student or community member, various groups working at different levels allowing you to find something appropriate for your individual development. All groups strive for the highest level of achievement, both in rehearsals and in performance, combining a musically intelligent approach with an understanding of free, healthy singing.

Through the variety of its ensembles, the ASU Choral Program provides opportunities to experience first hand the great repertory for vocal ensemble, from intimate a cappella pieces for just a few voices, to the grand works for large chorus and orchestra.

Singers who participate in chorus gain and refine the ensemble discipline vital to all music making. You learn how to create a compelling performance, broaden your knowledge of musical literature, and enrich your understanding of musical style and structure, technique and performance. Participation in choirs equips you for a lifetime of choral singing, whether as a paid professional, as a section leader in church and community choruses or as a member of volunteer choirs.
