Ensembles The ASU Herberger Institute School of Music choral area is an open door with diverse with ensemble offerings – symphonic, early music, men's, women's, jazz, and community choirs – that reflect a composite of many eras and styles of music, allowing students of all levels and musical backgrounds (choral singers, musical theatre performers, aspiring opera singers, church musicians, pianists and other instrumentalists, conductors) to strengthen their own understanding of singing and performance, as well as strengthen their capacities in new areas of music making. Collaborative projects across the ASU vocal and instrumental ensembles are presenting exciting new performance opportunities to enhance the ensemble experience, all while meeting new friends and talented colleagues. Singers who participate in chorus gain and refine their ability create a compelling performance, broaden their knowledge of musical literature, and enrich their understanding of musical style, structure, technique and performance. Participation in choirs equips one for a lifetime of singing, and a greater appreciation of vocal music overall.
