Letter from the Chair

Choral performance involves a balance of language preparation, vocal skill, rehearsal management, period practice and stylization, and professional concert production.  ASU’s choral program is committed to honoring the excellence of yesterday, creating new experiences today, and mentoring the talent of tomorrow.

To honor Dr. McEwen’s tradition of fine choral music, we recognize a distinguished alumnus with the annual Douglas R. McEwen Award for Choral Excellence.

In addition to the diverse music offerings at ASU, the students in the choral program have had collaborative opportunities with The Phoenix Symphony Chorus, The Phoenix Symphony, American Choral Directors Association, and Southwest Liederkranz, to name a few.

Please explore the information available at the School of Music online, and refer to this website often for new and updated information.
