Brass

The Herberger Institute School of Music at Arizona State University is home to one of the top brass programs in the country. Excellent student ensembles, facilities and a world-class program of study make studying brass at ASU one of the best educational bargains in the nation.

Bachelor’s degrees are offered in music performance, music education and music therapy. Master’s and doctoral degrees are offered in performance. 

Our performance faculty are outstanding and recognized internationally for their teaching and performing. The brass faculty includes David Hickman, trumpet, John Ericson, horn, Gail Eugene Wilson, trombone, and Sam Pilafian and Patrick Sheridan, tuba/euphonium. Our graduates hold important positions in major orchestras, universities and public and private schools around the world.
