The Herberger Institute School of Music uses SlideRoom to accept a variety of media from applicants. This includes all video and audio recordings for meeting prescreening and teaching demonstration requirements, as well as for recorded auditions (for those who are unable to audition live on-campus). DVD/CD submissions are not accepted by the School of Music and will neither be reviewed nor acted upon if received.
Please follow the time frames below to upload materials to SlideRoom. You are encouraged to begin your submission as early as possible to accommodate any complications that may arise. Materials uploaded outside of the time frames outlined below will not be acted upon.
Prescreening Materials (Required for all voice and composition applicants, and doctoral performance applicants)
Spring admission: September 1 – October 1
Fall admission: November 1 – December 1
Recorded Auditions
Spring admission: September 1 – November 1
Fall admission: December 1 – February 1
MM Music Therapy and PhD Music Education
These programs accept applications on a rolling basis. SlideRoom will continue to receive submissions until all spaces have been filled.
MM Piano Performance Pedagogy Teaching Demonstration
Spring admission: September 1 – October 15
Fall admission: November 1 – February 1
Piano Assistantship Teaching Demonstration
Fall admission only: December 1 – February 15
You may upload up to 5 media files with each submission. For degree programs that accept a variety media types, your total media count may include audio, video, and/or PDF.
Video
Each video recording may be up to 120MB (10-12 minutes long saved at 640px wide). Acceptable formats: .m4v, .mov, .mp4, .wmv, .flv, .asf, .mpeg, .mpg, .mkv. If your file exceeds 120MB, you may asked to either split the video into smaller segments and upload them separately or upload a portion of the video and include a YouTube link to the full video in the "Titles and Descriptions" section of SlideRoom.
Audio
Each audio recording may be up to 60MB (approx. 45 minutes of recording time). Acceptable formats: .mp3, .wma, .ogg, .flac.
PDF (Composition scores only)
Each PDF may be up to 20MB.
