Graduate Audition Materials and Requirements: Percussion
Performance of the following (or works of comparable difficulty) is required. You are encouraged to demonstrate abilities on other instruments such as drum set, Latin percussion, hand drums and auxiliary instruments.

Doctor of Musical Arts
Prescreening for doctoral applicants: In order to be considered for a live, in-person audition, applicants for all doctoral performance concentrations must submit a prescreening recording by October 1 for spring admission and December 1 for fall admission. Video is preferred, but audio is acceptable. All prescreening materials must be uploaded to SlideRoom by the deadlines above. DVD/CD submissions received are neither reviewed nor acted upon. Applications received without a prescreening recording uploaded to SlideRoom will be considered incomplete, and the applicant will not be considered for an invitation to a live audition.
Prescreening Requirements
Please upload 4-5 separate recordings (up to 12 minutes each) of your live, unedited performances on the following instruments. Solo repertoire may be arranged as needed. Video is preferred, but audio is acceptable.
- Marimba and/or Vibraphone: Solo repertoire and orchestral excerpts
- Snare Drum: Solo repertoire and orchestral excerpts
- Timpani: Solo repertoire and orchestral excerpts
- Drumset or multiple percussion
- World percussion and/or accessory instruments (optional)
