How many productions does the Lyric Opera Theatre perform each year?

  • The Lyric Opera Theatre stages four full productions each year. 
  • Two of the productions are from the musical theatre repertory and two are drawn from the operatic repertory.

How many practice rooms do you have?

  • 66 general practice rooms with pianos and mirrors.
  • 10 practice rooms with grand pianos reserved for piano performance majors.
  • 7 practice rooms reserved for percussion majors.

How many degrees do you offer?

  • 26 degrees from Baccalaureate degrees to the Doctor of Musical Arts.
  • Music Education concentrations include strings, instrumental music, choral/general music and jazz.
  • The only Music Therapy undergraduate and graduate degrees in the region.

What are the performing opportunities?

  • All music majors participate in ensembles each semester.
  • Many music majors are members of community choruses and orchestras in the Phoenix metropolitan area.
  • The School of Music offers a wide variety of ensembles.  In addition to our orchestras, choirs and bands, our ensembles include Mariachi groups, a gamelan orchestra, a steel drum band, a marimba ensemble and an African drumming group.  All ensembles perform several times each semester both on campus and in the community.
  • The orchestras, bands and choirs often participate in major festivals and conferences across the country.
  • We have many chamber music groups in which all music majors are welcome to participate.

Can I participate in music ensembles if I am not a music major?
